Chronology of cameras Zeiss Ikon
The career of the Box-Tengor (54/2) was long. Several variants followed one another. This one has a front face with a hexagon-shaped bezel. This face appeared around 1932, and disappeared around 1938, to make way for the version with more rounded graphic shapes.
It has three apertures (11, 16 and 22) and three distance settings (∞-8, 8-2, 2-1). This adjustment is made by the use of retractable lenses. A latch is used to block the shutter release button in order to prevent from any accidental shooting. The controls are in the form of small tabs, instead of large pull tabs.
